Privacy Policy

How BadgIQ handles Discord community data, website analytics, cookies, and your GDPR rights—aligned with the Discord Developer Policy. Last updated 23 July 2026.

Who controls your data

BadgIQ operates the platform and acts as controller for account, site, and support data. Community owners determine why community activity is tracked and may also act as controllers for their communities. Privacy questions: [email protected].

Discord Developer Policy

BadgIQ is a Discord application and processes Discord API data only as needed to provide its stated community-recognition features. We follow the Discord Developer Policy.

  • API data is used only for BadgIQ’s stated functionality: privacy-safe contribution metrics, badges, roles, points, leaderboards, member profiles, community administration, and related security or reliability needs.
  • We do not use API data to discriminate against anyone based on protected characteristics described in Discord’s Community Guidelines.
  • We do not use API data for eligibility considerations for real-world benefits or purposes such as employment, housing, insurance, credit, education admissions, or similar off-platform decisions.
  • We do not use API data to profile Discord users, their identities, or their relationships with other users beyond what is necessary to operate the features above inside a connected community.
  • Product improvement that uses Discord-derived information is limited to aggregated or de-identified forms that cannot identify an individual, except where processing is otherwise necessary to provide the stated product.
  • BadgIQ does not request or store Discord message content, attachments, embeds, or voice audio by default, and does not seek protected health, financial, or other sensitive categories except where a Discord-enabled payment or similar service expressly requires it.

Community owners and admins must use BadgIQ exports and dashboards only for legitimate community recognition and administration inside Discord. They must not use BadgIQ data to discriminate, sell personal data, build unrelated external identity profiles, or decide real-world benefit eligibility.

Data we collect

  • Discord account ID, username, display name, avatar reference, guild membership, configured roles, join date, and account creation date.
  • Privacy-safe activity metadata: message ID, channel ID, timestamp, daily message counts, voice channel ID, voice session times, badges, roles, points, and promo redemptions. Message text, attachments, embeds, and voice audio are not collected by default.
  • Admin account, configuration, access-control, security audit, and service reliability data.
  • Site interaction and Google Analytics data only after explicit analytics consent. Search text is limited to site searches and never includes private dashboard activity.

Why and how data is used

Data powers contribution metrics, badges, roles, points, member profiles, community administration, fraud prevention, security, support, and service reliability within BadgIQ. Legal bases may include contract performance, legitimate interests in secure service delivery, consent for optional analytics, and legal obligations.

BadgIQ does not sell personal data, does not use Discord API data for advertising networks, and does not use that data for discrimination or real-world eligibility decisions described above.

Cookies and analytics

No analytics runs until you select “Allow analytics.” BadgIQ stores that choice in browser local storage, not a cookie. Google Analytics may then set analytics cookies. Rejecting or withdrawing consent removes known analytics cookies and stops BadgIQ analytics collection.

You can reopen privacy choices from the lock control on marketing and community pages, or from the lock control next to your profile in the dashboard header.

If you submit a pilot solution request, BadgIQ stores the name, email, community details, topic, and message you provide so we can follow up. That storage happens only after you confirm the request form’s contact consent. You can ask us to delete a pilot lead by emailing [email protected].

A strictly necessary, HTTP-only session cookie is created only when you intentionally sign in with Discord. It authenticates requests and expires after seven days by default. It is not used for advertising.

Sharing and international transfers

Data is shared only with service providers needed to operate BadgIQ, including Discord for authentication and bot functions, infrastructure providers, and Google only when analytics consent is granted. Providers process data under their own terms and applicable safeguards. BadgIQ does not sell personal data.

Retention and deletion

Operational data is kept while needed for active communities, security, accounting, disputes, or legal duties. From any signed-in community profile, open Privacy and request deletion for that community or globally. Collection for that scope stops immediately. Deletion is scheduled four days later, and the request can be cancelled before its deadline. After deletion completes, contribution stays blocked for that scope until you explicitly choose Resume contributing. Deleted records are not restored.

Deletion removes identity, profile, awards, role links, point records, redemptions, raw events, and user-linked aggregates. Activity volume may remain only as daily community-level anonymous totals with no user or channel identifier. Community owners can view and permanently purge these totals. Global deletion also anonymizes the BadgIQ account identity and removes administrative memberships.

Platform operators may access erasure-request status in the owner console solely to fulfill, accelerate, or cancel deletion workflows, with access limited to operational fields and audited actions.

Your rights

Depending on location, you may request access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, consent withdrawal, or deletion. Use profile deletion controls, privacy choices, or email [email protected]. Identity verification may be required. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security, children, and changes

BadgIQ uses tenant and guild authorization, least-privilege Discord intents, encrypted transport, durable audit controls, and access restrictions. No system is risk-free. BadgIQ is not directed to children below the age permitted for Discord in their country. Material policy changes will be dated here and communicated when required.
